entering tariffs based on a flat rate format

PricePoint’s flexible tariff entry allows tariffs to be entered on a volume or weight basis, and rates can be entered on various units of measurement (UOM), per cbm, per cft, per cwt, and flat basis. Origin and destination tariffs can even have separate UOM.

One of the most common rate entry errors are for flat rate tariffs. Flat-based rate formats function much the same way as rates entered in a per cbm or per cwt format….

Minimums, minimum density, and rate breakpoints

We see frequent issues in regards to entering minimums, be it minimum sizes, minimum charges, or minimum density. We often see tariffs that are not effectively using the first line of rate entry as the minimum charge. Or incorrectly using the minimum density field as a minimum charge.

The highlighted sections “Origin minimum density” and “Dest. Minimum density” are for use with a weight-based tariff (pounds, flat or pounds per cwt) that prefer to specify a minimum density to be applied to your tariff. For example, you use the common standard of 6.5 on ocean shipments….
